Stay in a beautiful private home on the perfect Greek island of Naxos, in the Cycladic archipelago. The house has a stunning, open-plan lounge-dining-kitchen facing west over a broad band of sea and sky. The sun sets behind the neighbouring island of Paros, and on a clear day, many more islands ‘float’ on the horizon. French windows open onto a balcony that runs along three sides of the house.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

The house is set in its own vineyard and olive grove among agricultural land that borders the island’s south-west coast. Two perfect sandy bays and a long, long sandy beach are 15 minutes’ walk away. It is a peaceful, rural location, off the tourist trail. There’s a view across the coastal plain to sea and island from three sides of the house; inland are smooth-contoured, garigue-covered hills, which are wonderful to explore on foot.

Facilities (main house only):

In the garden:
Rosemary, lavender, marjoram, thyme, rocket.
Other vegetables, such as courgettes, aubergines, beans and tomatoes may be available July and August.
According to season: lemons, pomegranates, pears…and loads of figs.

Local facilities:
Two excellent tavernas are 5 minutes’ walk away. A couple of general stores, (open mid-May to early October) are about 10-15 minutes’ walk away.  The local baker (fresh bread daily) is 5 minutes by bike (two mountain bikes available on the property), and the nearest year-round ‘supermarket’ is in Mikri Vigla, approx. 2.5 km away. The nearest village with a greater range of basic food shops, is Vivlos/Tripodes, 00 km away; and Naxos town is 17km away. There is a daily bus service to and from Naxos town, but if you want to explore the island we suggest you hire transport.

Services:
Letting prices include heating, water, gas, electricity, ADSL wireless connection, and cleaning once a week. The kitchen has an electric oven and gas hob, and washing machine in adjoining utility room. There is central heating in the main part of the house and a radiator in each apartment.
