villa on greek island

Bed & Breakfast • Self-catering Rooms • Summer villa to let • Winter villa to let

The Walking Plus country villa is in its own vineyard and olive grove set among farmland on the south-west coast of Naxos.
It is a much-loved private home in a peaceful, rural location away from tourist areas.
The single-storey house (200 sq m) is light and airy, with an open-plan lounge-dining-kitchen area. French windows that overlook a broad band of sea and sky. From the wide balcony that borders three sides of the house, watch the sun set behind the neighbouring island of Paros, and see, on a clear day, Eos, Folegandros and other islands 'floating' on the horizon. Inland are fields ringed by waves of rocky hills. Two perfect sandy bays and a long sandy beach are 800m away, and never crowded. It is a perfect base for a peaceful and relaxing beach holiday, and an excellent base for exploring the south coast, centre and east to north of the island.

" Gilly and Robin's friendliness and attention to detail really made our holiday. They gave us lots of excellent information on exploring Naxos and best places to eat. The breakfasts were delicious and we had everything we needed to make the odd evening meal. The apartment was light, pretty and tasteful, in a simple Greek style but with personal touches. The villa's situation is excellent - near the sea and surrounded by its own garden with olive trees and a vineyard." – Kate Hay, Museum Curator, Bed & Breakfast guest, May 2011.
"You have an absolutely wonderful home here, which we have both simply fallen in love with. We go swimming each day, eat all our meals out on the terrace to enjoy the splendid view (and the amazing sunsets). Rarely have we experienced such tranquility." – David & Emily, post-graduates, Oxford University

"We had a simply fantastic time; you've done a great job with the house. It was just perfect, and we were very impressed with the beaches so close by - so clear and unspoilt. Great tavernas too - would really recommend Paradise taverna on the closest beach."
- Hugo Reeve, 39, Real Estate consultant, who came with three other adults and four children.

Responsible Travel Policy
We are committed to balancing the need to conserve natural resources such as water and energy, with maintaining good standard of customer care and comfort. We decided not to install air-conditioning throughout the house to reduce our carbon footprint but invested in roof insulation; windows and doors are fitted with shutters that can be closed during the day to minimize heat from the sun; many windows are fitted with insect screens and so can be left open to create through-drafts. The island is often several degrees cooler than Athens due to the maritime breezes.
